ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Donald Offwood is a direct descendant of the first settlers in Otago. He was born in Invercargill and lived for some years in Dunedin. The novels he produces are from factual material gleaned from the descendants and the history of the local area. With a passion for the Otago region, Donald produces books that appeal to readers who enjoy the stories of the courage and achievement of our pioneers.

Donald is a retired Air New Zealand International pilot and aircraft engineer with over 40 years of aviation experience. A Safe Pair of Hands is his eighth book, the earlier ones include the Otago pioneer trio, Oatcakes to Otago, Heather's Gold and Camerons of the Glen. He has also commemorated the prominent Dunedin artist Tom Esplin in Esplin.
